With a new call for proposals, the WWTF addresses researchers in the empirical social sciences at universities or non-university research institutions in Vienna to apply for funding for cutting-edge research projects based on quantitative methods and large data sets.
The projects should address current, socially relevant research questions and make use of new data sets and/or reuse existing datasets. Researchers can collect data themselves or link existing data to answer their research questions. Researchers are encouraged to access new data sources– for example, the Austrian Microdata Center or data sets in the CoreTrustSeal certified AUSSDA Dataverse.
The WWTF funds projects that span over 2 to 4 years. The funding range per project is € 250,000 to € 600,000. The total funding amounts to € 3 million. Proposals from interdisciplinary research teams are highly encouraged.
This is a two-stage call:
- Deadline for short proposals: October 6, 2022, 2 pm CET
- Deadline for full proposals (upon invitation): February 15, 2023, 2 pm CET
You can find more information and the specific requirements for this call on the WWTF website.
